Health advice and self-care

The Pharmacists and trained assistants are available to give advice on all our medicines and minor ailments. We can also give advice on healthy living, including dietary advice and smoking cessation. If we cannot help, we will give you advice about where else to seek assistance.

Free Medicine Use Reviews (MURs) and New Medicine Service (NMS)

You can make an appointment with our Pharmacist to discuss how you are getting on with your new or regular medicines. You may also be asked by your doctor to take this opportunity to learn more about your medicines and ask questions. If you are having any difficulties or have any concerns about your medicines, our Pharmacist will be able to assist. Ask at the counter for more details of this service.

Free NHS Health Check

This check is part of a new national scheme to help prevent the risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease and is available to everyone between the ages of 40 and 74 who has not been diagnosed with these conditions already. Please ask a staff member or call 01263 888390 to book an appointment.

Patient Medication Records

Our computer allows us to keep records of the prescriptions dispensed to you. This allows us to check for possible problems, such as reactions between medicines and will help us deal with any queries you have. We comply with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of practice on confidentiality.

Holiday Health

We can advise on medical requirements for travellers, including anti-malarial treatments.

Emergency supplies

If you need one of your regular medicines in an emergency (and you are unable to contact your doctor), we may be able to help. This can only be done in an emergency and it may incur a charge.

Disabled customers

We have free designated parking and are DDA compliant.

Medicine containers

All medicines are dispensed in child-resistant containers unless requested otherwise. Please remember to keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children. Our pharmacy team can advise you on safe storage of medicines.

Unwanted medicines

Please return all unwanted medicines to the Pharmacy, where we will dispose of them safely.
