Holt Medical Practice
 Holt Medical Practice

Appointments can be made by telephone on 01263 712461 or at reception in any of the three surgeries.

Routine appointments to see a doctor may be booked online. This service requires individual patients to register for "online access" at the surgery. For more information see here or ask at reception.

(NB: only available to patients over 16).

Routine appointments may be booked up to two weeks in advance.

For urgent appointments you will be offered acces to the 'assessment team'. The assessment team provides a mixture of telephone consultations and face to face appointments (with a practice nurse, nurse practitioner or duty doctor). In most cases the nurse practitioners (our senior, prescribing nurses) will be able to deal with most patients' concerns. There is always a duty doctor available to see you on the day if necessary. We are not a walk in service - please telephone and ask to speak to the duty doctor first, as they might direct you to a more appropriate service.

Wherever possible we try to offer everything you need in one visit.

Appointments are available mornings and afternoons, five days a week from:

8:10am - 12:30pm and 2:00pm - 5:40pm

If you require urgent attention out of hours, please call 111.

Extended Opening Hours

To improve the service avaialble to patients, we offer evening GP appointments at Holt Medical Practice every monday from 6:30pm to 8pm except Bank Holidays. These appointments can be booked in the normal way.

Please note the dispensary will not be open during this time.

When you arrive at the surgery

Please notify reception of your arrival at the surgery and if you have waited over 15 minutes after your appointment time, enquire about the reason for the delay. At holt there is a check in screen in reception to speed up the checking in process.

If you cannot attend your appointment, please telephone to cancel so that the appointment can be offered to another patient. Or if you have online access you can cancel it online.

How to request a Home Visit

If you feel you are too ill to travel to the surgery, you can ask for a home visit.  If possible, please contact the surgery before 10am to arrange this. The receptionist will need information about the problem, a contact number and why you require a home visit.

Children who are ill can usually be brought to the surgery where they will be seen as soon as possible.
