Lead Patient Administrator @ Holt Medical Practice

£9 p/h (£17550 p/a)

37.5 hours a week

 

Holt Medical Practice is looking to recruit a full time Lead Patient Administrator to head up the Nurse Admin team. The post is for 37.5 hours a week during our core opening hours between 08:00 and 18:30, Monday to Friday.

 

Previously, this post has been manned 4.5 days a week, 08.00 to 17.00 (with an hour for lunch and 2 x 15 min tea breaks and one half day). We are flexible as to how the hours are structured. Additional benefits include 5 weeks annual leave (plus pro-rata entitlement of Bank Holidays) and access to the NHS pension scheme.

 

The Nurse Admin Team coordinate:

  • nursing activities and rotas throughout the year;
  • arranging chronic disease recalls and reviews;
  • liasing with community healthcare staff; and
  • dealing with patient queries

There are 15 nurses in the Nursing Team and 3 members of the Nurse Admin Team. The Lead Patient Administrator has both the Nurse Manager and Practice Manager as their supervisor and plays a key role in the day to day running of the surgery.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong administrative background underpinned by sound IT skills and customer care. They will be able to work to weekly and monthly deadlines, and respond proactively and efficiently to the requests of patients and nurses alike. The successful candidate will need excellent time management skills.

 

NHS experience is not essential. Medical terminology qualification and knowledge of EMIS Web is disirable - training will be given. Most importantly we are looking for someone with a good and structured approach to their daily tasks, who is organised, reliable, good with people and enjoys working as part of a team. A good sense of humour is also valuable.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

@ Holt Medical Practice, North Norfolk

3 or 4 days p/w (up to 37.5 hours)

£41,000 - £47,000 per annum (depending on experience)

 

We are looking for a 6 - 8 session (over 3 or 4 days) Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly and lively GP Surgery in Holt, North Norfolk. One of the working days will be a Friday.

 

The Surgery: We have 14,000 patients, 10 partners (7.25FTE), 2 Salaried GPs and a vibrant nursing team (consisting of 7 Nurse Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Practitioner, 3 Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomist). Our main site at Holt is a modern, airy, purpose built Surgery with a newly built Pharmacy adjoining it. We also have branch Surgeries at Melton Constable and Blakeney. Although busy and proactive, we are a relaxed and welcoming Practice.

 

The Role: 8 sessions per week would be 37.5 hours per week (over 4 days). Holiday entitlement is 5.5 weeks (plus pro-rata of bank holidays) and a working week's study leave allowance. Plus, of course, NHS pension scheme and MDU membership.

 

The working day: Our core opening hours are 08:00 - 18:30, Monday to Friday. Nurse Practitioner appointment slots are 15 mins long with 2 x 30 mins tea breaks and protected administration time in the morning and afternoon. Our Nurse Practitioners are mainly based at the Holt site. Sessions may be a mix of same day assessment appointments and pre-booked chronic disease clinics, depending on specialisms, interests and demand.

 

The Ideal Candidate: will be an experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner. They will be an Independent  Prescriber with a good sense of humour. Primary Care experience would be preferable and knowledge of chronic disease management would be an asset. They should have good IT skills, excellent organisational, communication and clinical skills and a good understanding of QOF, Enhanced Services and CQC guidelines.

Dispenser (37.5hrs pw)

(November 2017)

 

We are looking to recruit a dispenser to work in our busy Pharmacy / Dispensary.

 

As a dispenser you will be part of a team dealing with patient queries, stock handling, dispensing medication and retail sales. Good I.T. skills are important; as is the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

 

A dispensing qualification (NVQ2) is preferable and successful candidates will be well organised, flexible and professional. They will have a full driving licence (as they may be required to work at any of our 3 sites: Holt, Blakeney and Melton) and have excellent customer care skills with a friendly, helpful personality.
