Paramedic @ Holt Medical Practice, North Norfolk

4 days p/w (up to 37.5 hours)

£21.00 per hour

We are looking for 8 sessions (over 4 days) of Paramedic time to enhance our friendly and busy Clinical Team at Holt Medical Practice in North Norfolk.

The Surgery

We are a large, coastal, North Norfolk practice with 14,000 patients. Our main site at Holt is a large purpose-built Surgery with a hybrid Pharmacy adjoining it. We have a large clinical team consisting of 10 x GPs, 3 x Paramedics, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Mental Health workers and a Physio. Although busy, we are a relaxed, hard-working, welcoming and harmonious Practice.

The Role

You will be directly employed by Holt Medical Practice to work with our existing clinical team to deliver the best healthcare service to our patients. The primary focus of our Paramedics is to assist our Duty Team with the on-the-day patient demand through telephone and face to face consultations and home visits. Over time you would be encouraged to develop an area of specialism, and these would be focused to your developing areas of interest and strengths.

Protected time for peer support and learning with a GP is provided together with daily debriefing. With the support of the other Paramedics and our experienced clinical team, you will be able to share information, learn and grow in your confidence and ability.

Your core hours will be between 08.00 – 18.30 Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch. You will be entitled to 6 working weeks annual leave plus your pro rata entitlement to bank holidays and a reasonable amount of paid study leave. NHS pension and additional MDU indemnity come as standard together with free, onsite parking.

The Ideal Candidate

The right candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. They will be confident in their own abilities and aware of their limitations and when to seek support. You will be able to work well in a close-knit team of both clinicians and non-clinicians and have good organisational and analytical skills.

If coming from outside primary care, there is likely to be a steep (but rewarding!) learning curve, so we are looking for a candidate who is prepared for this and is keen to get stuck in.

Applications

Our Nurse Manager (Julia Bourne, juliabourne@nhs.net) or one of our existing Paramedics (Tom Wharton, tom.wharton@nhs.net) would be happy to talk to you informally if you would prefer to contact them either before or in addition to your application.

This job advert will remain live until Friday 11th June, although we reserve the right to close the application process early should we receive enough applications.
